Transform your photos
into beautiful sewn illustrations

High quality framed outline drawings

Guide to choosing the perfect image for your custom embroidery - let's transform your photos
into beautiful sewn illustrations.

To ensure the best results for your personalised embroidery, it’s important to select the right kind of image.

Here's a simple guide to help you choose the best photo and avoid common issues.

Good Image Qualities

1. Clear Silhouettes:

Well-defined outlines make for the best embroidered results. Photos with clear, strong silhouettes of people or pets will allow us to create crisp and clean designs.

Example: A photo with a person or pet standing or sitting clearly against a simple background.

2. Full-Length Images:

Full-length images work well, as they give us more detail to work with, resulting in a more polished and finished look.

Example: A full-body photo of the person, rather than just a headshot, makes for a balanced design.

3. Good Lighting:

Photos taken in natural or bright lighting will highlight details and avoid dark, unclear sections. This helps us ensure every part of the design stands out.

Example: A well-lit outdoor photo on a sunny day works better than a dimly lit indoor photo.

Images to Avoid

4. Blurry Photos:

Blurry or out-of-focus images make it difficult to capture fine details, resulting in a less precise embroidered finish.

Bad Example: A blurry phone photo where features are difficult to distinguish.

5. People or Pets Too Small:

Photos where the subject is too small or far away can be challenging to work from. We recommend making sure the main focus of the image is prominent and fills most of the frame.

Bad Example: A wide landscape photo with a tiny figure in the distance.

6. Cluttered Foregrounds:

Busy or cluttered foregrounds can interfere with the main focus of the embroidery. Simpler foreground grounds make for cleaner and more effective designs.

Bad Example: A photo with a lot of objects or people in the foreground encroaching on the person, making it hard to isolate the subject.

Pose Suggestions

For Pets:

Natural, relaxed poses work best. Capture your dog sitting or lying down, or a cat curled up or stretching. Avoid photos where pets are in motion, as they tend to be blurry.

For people:

Poses where the subject is facing slightly away or to the side often create a more stylish and unique look. Avoid stiff, straight-on headshots for the most natural result.
